Frequently Asked Questions
Seal liner questions,
answered.
Choosing a seal
How do I choose the right seal liner?
Start with four questions. Do you need visible tamper evidence? Will the container be opened and closed repeatedly? Does the product release gas or build pressure? And what is the container made of, and do you have heat-sealing equipment? The answers narrow six products down quickly — our seal selection guide maps each need to the products that meet it.
What is the difference between a 1-piece and a 2-piece induction seal?
A 1-piece seal is a single liner that bonds to the container and comes away completely when opened, leaving nothing in the cap. A 2-piece seal adds a separate backing wad that stays inside the cap after the foil seal is removed, so the cap still seals the container when it is closed again. Choose 1-piece when the product does not need resealing; choose 2-piece when the container is opened and closed repeatedly.
When should I use a vented seal?
When the product releases gas or builds pressure after sealing. A vented seal lets that pressure release in a controlled way instead of straining the cap and seal.
Which seal is easiest for consumers to open?
Lift & Peel. It is an easy-open liner designed for the end consumer, and it peels away cleanly with no residue.
Induction sealing
What is an induction heat seal?
A liner fitted inside the cap that bonds to the container rim when the capped container passes under an induction sealer. The electromagnetic field heats the liner's foil, melting its sealing layer onto the rim. Our induction range is the 1-Piece IHS, 2-Piece IHS, Two Piece Induction Vented Seal and Lift & Peel.
Does the cap need to be removed for induction sealing?
No. Induction sealing heats the liner through the cap without contact, so the container is sealed with the cap already on.
What does an induction seal protect against?
It closes off the container opening itself rather than relying on the cap alone, which helps guard against leaks, tampering and contamination between filling and first use. Real-world performance depends on the container, product and sealing setup, which is why we confirm the specification for each application.
What makes a seal tamper-evident?
The seal is bonded to the container rim, so it cannot be removed and put back without it showing. Our induction seals and conduction seal are tamper-evident; EPE wads are not.
Conduction sealing
What is the difference between induction and conduction sealing?
Both bond a liner to the container rim using heat. Induction sealing heats the liner's foil without contact, through the cap, using an electromagnetic field. Conduction sealing heats the liner by direct contact with a heated plate pressed onto it.
When is a conduction seal the right choice?
When your containers are HDPE plastic and you need a hermetic, tamper-evident seal — for example for hazardous chemicals, dairy, cultured milk or soy-based drinks.
EPE wads
What are EPE wads?
Compressible polyethylene foam liners that sit inside the cap. They seal by compression when the cap is tightened, with no heat required.
Do EPE wads provide tamper evidence?
No. They reseal every time the cap is closed but do not show whether the container has been opened. For tamper evidence, choose an induction or conduction seal.
Quotes & ordering
What do you need from me to quote?
Your container material and neck size, the product being sealed, your monthly volume, and whether you need tamper evidence, resealing or venting. If you are not sure, describe the application and we will work it out with you.
Can you supply non-standard sizes or printed seals?
Yes — custom printing, non-standard sizing and material substitution are part of our custom solutions. Describe your container and what you need, and we will confirm what is possible.
What are your minimum order quantities?
It depends on the liner and size. Tell us the specification and volume you need, and we will confirm for that item.
Which countries do you supply?
We currently supply manufacturers across two countries. Contact us with your destination and we will confirm what we can arrange.
How quickly will you respond?
Our team typically responds within 24 hours, with quotes and technical replies within one business day.
